CRS is proud to announce Madeline Gardner as our new assistant conductor for the 2019-2020 season!
Madeline Gardner is the director of Choirs at Prairie View High School, where she conducts Men’s Choir, Women’s Choir, Select Women’s Choir, Select Mixed Choir, teaches piano class, and vocal directs the school musical. Ms. Gardner graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she received her Bachelor of Music Education in Choral Music and a Philosophy Minor.
The students in PVHS choirs perform four concerts per academic year, as well as participate in extracurricular honor choirs. PVHS Choir Students are named to Colorado All-State Choir and Colorado All-State Jazz Choir on a regular basis. Under Ms. Gardner’s direction, the PVHS choirs have traveled to New York in 2016, and Hawaii in 2018. They most recently earned a Gold Rating from the Worldstrides Onstage Program, earning them an invitation to their Festival of Gold Concert Performance Series.
Ms. Gardner began her formal choral music career at age nine when she was accepted into the Colorado Children’s Chorale. She has been singing in choirs ever since, both in and out of academic settings, and is a current member of the Denver Pro Chorale. Ms. Gardner had the distinct experience of performing in the Eklund Opera Program’s production of The Rake’s Progress by Igor Stravinsky in 2012.
