CRS Student Singers Outreach:

CRS recognizes a need to encourage young vocalists by affording them opportunities to participate in the larger musical community. The CRS Student Singers Outreach provides a vehicle to engage the hearts of our young singers in this larger community concert setting. We also recognize the need to bridge generations and afford mentoring opportunities if a viable heritage of diverse vocal works is to remain for future generations to enjoy. The opportunity to interact with professional musicians and soloists enables student singers to experience the excitement of performing some of the greatest choral works of all time in a full concert setting, perhaps influencing them to become the music lovers, performers, and conservators of the future. Funding of this outreach program allows the CRS to waive the $150 annual membership dues for area high school students interested in joining CRS.

TAP (Ticket Assistance Program):

There's excitement in attending a live concert: the dressing up, walking into the concert hall slightly more aware of your step than usual, sinking into the seat, joining in the chatter, noticing the dramatic lighting that says something special is about to happen, listening to voices suddenly hush as a movement onstage cues the start of the program. It's an inspirational experience, with much of the excitement attributable to the communal aspect of the experience. But ticket cost can be a hindrance to concert attendance. Funding for TAP would enable CRS to soften this deterrent by reducing the price for everyone, making concerts more accessible to people of all income levels.

CRS Guest Artist Initiative:

The CRS Guest Artist Initiative seeks to enrich the educational, inspirational, and entertainment value of the concert experience for performers and audience members alike by allowing us to augment our concerts with the musical range and virtuosity afforded by professional musicians. This Initiative increases the depth and variety of the musical experience our concerts have to offer, and thus has the potential to increase concert attendance, broaden audience demographics, and draw people into participating in the performing arts themselves. .
